Parental involvement is an essential part of the playgroup ethos. We are represented by an elected committee made up of parents; three officers: Chair, Secretary and Treasurer and up to nine more members. The Committee is responsible for managing the playgroup’s finances, shopping, maintaining equipment and toys, outings and the all-important fundraising!

We are a community playgroup and would be unable to exist without a Committee. Being a member is a great way of getting to know people and making new friends – it is also great fun!

Duty Rota

Your help on the duty rota is totally voluntary, with 1 session being asked of from each child’s parent or carer per term. This is a wonderful opportunity to find out what goes on during the session and on your duty day you become an invaluable member of the team. Your tasks will include:

  • Overseeing activities, as requested by the staff
  • Preparing snacks and drinks
  • Help tidy away and washing up
  • Helping the children with hand washing, shoes and coats

If for any reason you are unable to help out at a morning session you can always help us by washing the dressing up clothes or preparing craft activities for future sessions.

Other ways to get involved

Parents also support the playgroup in many other ways: helping at fundraising events, donating items or even sharing a special skill with the children.

If you have a special skill that you could share with us, for example playing a musical instrument, or have a particular craft skill, we would be delighted to hear from you.
